Technological breakthroughs are impacting businesses of all sizes and across all industry sectors.
At Silver Mountain, we have found that organisations must be ready to embrace these changes, stretch their horizons, adapt, adopt new channels for marketing themselves and transform their communications and social media platforms to reap the benefits of reaching new markets. But the complexity of doing all this makes it tempting to focus on the short-term and quick fixes.
With so much noise, so many unknowns, and such a degree of change, defining a strategic digital marketing response to incoming disruptions can feel like an uphill struggle. But it needn’t be this way.
We have been advising our clients for the past two years on how best to understand at a strategic level, the nature of disruption and the emerging technologies that must be understood to gain the capability to monitor and interpret these trends. These businesses can then apply these insights to tackle potential opportunities and challenges with innovative thinking, to ensure they are capitalising the technologies and platforms now available to maximise their bottom line.
This could span from understanding and identifying; appropriate digital channels to be on, capturing data/insight to inform their interactions with target audiences, automating digital platforms, personalisation of data, paid social media advertising, mobile and search optimisation and leveraging visual assets.
An example of this, is our recent work with FairBreak Global, an Australian headquartered gender equality network and charity. We were commissioned to live stream their Inaugural Global Day of Gender Equality, women’s cricket match to 20 countries. It was a huge undertaking to deploy live coverage and social media awareness of this scale and with such a broad global audience. One of our key considerations was the range of technical complexities to overcome.
We were successfully able to execute full coverage, by utilising state of the art video production technology, seamlessly for an international audience spanning 16 different time zones. This resulted in Silver Mountain becoming FairBreak Global’s digital partner, covering the next three sporting events on their fixture list. The client was incredibly satisfied with the YouTube views of the match, which surpassed the agreed KPI by 300% totalling over 10,000 views through distribution of various social media platforms. From our experiences, harnessing the potential of disruption and guiding the business community in the digital marketing space has been a thoroughly positive experience for us. I would recommend that all businesses invest time and resources in exploiting the opportunities and mitigating against the challenges disruptive technologies may present.
